Strategic Steps for Growth (SS4G) is an executive business education program designed for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs), as well as media, entertainment, and technology firms that want to grow their business.

SS4G provides firms with an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience through:

An award-winning curriculum
Peer-mentoring sessions
Advice from business leaders and experts
Connecting with City and NYU procurement professionals

Throughout the course, each business owner will develop a customized 3-year Strategic Growth Action Plan. This detailed plan, based on the business' current position and future goals, will be vetted by other participants and business experts.

All applicants must have an ownership stake in their business. To be eligible to apply for either the M/WBE Program, or for the Media, Entertainment, and Technology Industry program, a business must fit certain criteria.

There is a $1,000 tuition fee for the program.

Apply for M/WBE Certification.

For the Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Program, an applicant must:

Be certified by New York City as a Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) or submit your application to become M/WBE-certified by the start of the course
Have been operating for at least 3 years with revenues of between $500,000 and $10 million during the most recent year (exceptions to the eligibility requirements will be reviewed)
Have at least one full-time employee (not including the business owner)

For the Media, Entertainment, and Technology Industry Program, an applicant must:

Be in the media, entertainment, or technology industry or an allied industry.
Have been operating for at least 1 year with revenues of between $150,000 and $10 million during the most recent year (exceptions to the eligibility requirements will be reviewed).
Have at least one full-time employee (not including the business owner).
Be headquartered or have a main office within New York City, or have a significant tie to the City’s business community.
