Retired people over 55 may apply to participate in the ReServe Program. You will be interviewed by ReServe, to match your skills with a specific short-term project in a New York City agency or a nonprofit organization. Selected participants work on projects for 10 to 15 hours a week and receive a small stipend for their contribution.
The Silver Stars Program offers NYC agencies the opportunity to meet business needs by matching experienced, retired City employees with part-time, project-based assignments at a City agency.
The program helps City worker retirees supplement their income and maintain a productive and social lifestyle without the demands of traditional full-time employment. Silver Stars also allows City retirees to support organizational growth by sharing their knowledge and experience with newer employees.

Retirees receiving a disability pension are not eligible to participate in the program.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact their retirement system to understand the requirements for rejoining City service.
