Report a social distancing violation
You can get technical assistance registering a cooling tower by emailing ctcompliance@health.nyc.gov.
Your email will be answered within 2 business days.
Building owners must annually certify that their cooling towers were inspected, tested, cleaned and disinfected according to the cooling tower regulations.
The certification period is between November 1 and October 31. Certifications for the year ending October 31 must be uploaded to the Cooling Tower Registration portal by November 1.
Owners of buildings without cooling towers do not have to register.
If you have been told that you have a registered cooling tower, you can request information about any registered cooling towers at your building by emailing ctcompliance@health.nyc.gov.
Health Department staff will evaluate the status of the cooling tower registration for your building. They can decommission or inactivate cooling towers that never existed or no longer exist.
Be sure your email includes your building's address and Building Identification Number (BIN), if known.
