Colorectal cancer, which is known as cancer of the colon or rectum, is the second-leading cause of cancer death in New York City and the United States.

Colon cancer screening saves lives. If you are 50 years of age or older, you should get screened. Some people are at increased risk for colon cancer based on family history or other health risks. Talk to your doctor to see what age is appropriate to start screening for you.
