Current clients of SNAP (food stamps), Cash Assistance (public assistance), and/or Medicaid can get assistance with their benefit card, including:

Replacing a card that is lost, stolen, defective, or never received

What Happens Next

If you make your request online or by phone it will take from 7 to 10 business days for you to get your replacement card. Replacement cards can only be mailed to the address on record.

Applicants who have been approved for Cash Assistance or SNAP (Food Stamps) benefits will receive an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card in the mail.

If your EBT card is lost, stolen, defective, or never received, you can submit a replacement request online or by phone. You can also pick up a temporary replacement card at your nearest Job Center.

If you make your request online or by phone, it will take from 7 to 10 business days for you to get your replacement card. Replacement cards can only be mailed to the address on record.

You can go to an open HRA location for a temporary card that will have all benefits available until your EBT card arrives. Visit the HRA Center Locations website for more information.

You must bring a valid photo ID in order to receive a same day replacement card.

Update or Correct Information on EBT Card

If you are currently receiving benefits and need to update or correct information on your EBT card, visit the SNAP (Food Stamps) and/or Public Assistance or Welfare pages instead to learn how to make your request.

If you are a SNAP or Cash Assistance client, you can get assistance with checking your EBT card balance and benefits schedule online or by phone.

Check your cash account balance at ATMs where EBT cards are accepted

Initial PIN for New EBT Card

Your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and your initial PIN for the card are mailed separately. You will receive the two mailings within a few days of each other. They are sent separately for security reasons.
