Report a social distancing violation
To start, select "Purchase Access Pass" on the kiosk screen to rent a bicycle for a 24-hour or weekly pass, and then swipe your credit or debit card. You will be given a ride code to unlock your bike.
For your next trip, re-swipe the same credit or debit card for a new ride code. Your card will not be charged again for multiple rides within the purchased time period.
Types of Payment Accepted
Most major credit and debit card payments are accepted. Cash is not accepted.
A temporary hold of $101 is placed on all credit and debit card transactions at the kiosk (for all 24 hour and weekly memberships) as a security deposit. The $101 hold will be removed once the hold expires, which may take up to 10 days, depending on your credit card company's policy.
Day Passes
You can purchase 24-hour and 72-hour access at a station kiosk or by using the Citi Bike app for iPhone or Android.
After you purchase a pass, you will be given a ride code to unlock a bike.
Each individual trip begins when a bike is unlocked and ends when the bike is securely returned at any Citi Bike station. Each trip can last up to 30 minutes. If your trip lasts longer than 30 minutes, you will be charged an overtime fee of $4 for each additional 15 minutes. The timer resets whenever you dock a bike, so you can make an unlimited number of trips during an access period.

Annual Memberships
You can purchase an annual membership on Citi Bike's website. Annual membership costs $169 if you pay in full. If you make an annual commitment, you can pay $14.95 per month.
After you purchase a membership, you will be mailed a key to unlock the bike from its dock.
Each individual trip begins when a bike is unlocked and ends when the bike is securely returned at any Citi Bike station. Each trip can last up to 45 minutes. If your trip lasts longer than 45 minutes, you will be charged an overtime fee of $2.50 for each additional 15 minutes. The timer resets whenever you dock a bike, so you can make an unlimited number of trips during an access period.

If you receive SNAP, you can sign up with your EBT card number. NYCHA residents need their tenant account number.
You can return the bike to any Citi Bike station in New York City. Make sure you:
Your trip is closed once the green light appears. If you don't see a green light, try again.
If you are an Annual Member, you can log into your Citi Bike account and turn on trip-closure notifications.
If the Bike Rack is Full:
The Police Department enforces traffic rules on City streets and in Central Park.
Any cyclist not obeying all traffic rules may be issued a Traffic Violation by a police officer.
Riding on a Sidewalk
Do not ride a Citi Bike on the sidewalk.
Cyclists may receive a summons for riding on a City sidewalk.

In the event of inclement weather conditions that may make cycling hazardous, NYC Bike Share will temporarily shut down the system and lock down and/or remove the bicycles as necessary. The system will reopen as soon as the weather permits.
